Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium (05 September 2026):
Red Camel-Jordans.nl celebrated a richly deserved victory in the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup this evening at Spa-Francorchamps, the Dutch team largely controlling the 12-hour race to take the flag a lap clear of the squad’s closest rivals.
Rik Breukers swiftly moved up from fourth on the grid to take the overall race lead in the No.9 PRO Class Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992 I) midway around the opening lap. Subsequently undoing the damage of an early false-start penalty to move back to the front in hour two, thereafter things went pretty much like clockwork as Red Camel finally achieved its goal of winning the Endurance Cup.
“It feels great, we came in second last year and third the year before that, so it feels great to win it”, said a delighted Rik Breukers, “It’s racing, so we have to push every lap. The car felt great, we had a bit of understeer during the stints but we managed and it was a lot of fun out there.”
Second place overall, and claiming the PRO-AM Class win, was the highly competitive Theeba Motorsport by Quanloop EST1 Racing trio of Paul Meijer and brother and sister Ali and Reema Juffali who worked hard to overcome a series of electrical issues. Meijer was incredibly fast in all of his stints, ending the race with the fastest lap of 2m21.099s.
AF Motorsport, which lost pole position from the Top 5 Shoot-Out on Friday, 4 September, due to an infringement with its car, came through to take third overall and second in PRO-AM even with Dylan Pereira having to drastically save fuel during the closing stages. Pereira and team-mates Angelo Fontana, Andre Fernandes and Christian Potolicchio were certainly relieved at the flag.
Their cause was helped by a late pit visit for fuel for the impressive MM Racing. The team of Mick, Tom and Steve Meurrens still claimed a strong fourth and took victory in the AM-S class, perhaps the story of the weekend as the squad only built the car on Friday and so missed testing and qualifying.
Victory in the closely fought AM-B class was taken by LMR Motorsport, the team of Dieter Svepes, Andre Marques and Leandro Martins combining very strongly to see off HRT Performance quartet Steven Gambrell, Seth Gilmore, Massimo Vignali and Tadao Uematsu by one lap.
Starting at 09.45 local time, Conrad Tox Leveau led away from pole in the Mühlner Motorsport Porsche but was challenged to the left by Rik Breukers in the Red Camel car – up from fourth – and to his right by LMR’s Martins. Breukers was the most committed of the three, taking second on the exit and swarming all over the leader before passing at the slightly damp Pouhon.
Initially putting some space between himself and Leveau, the latter settled and did stay in touch with the Red Camel car while Jean-Mathieu Leandri, in third for Chazel Technologie Course, fell into the clutches of the pack behind. News then came of false-start penalties for Breukers and Leandri.
Leveau duly took the lead again thanks to the drive-through penalties, ahead of Tom Meurrens who had made incredible progress from the back of the grid for MM Racing. The first big drama then came just after the half hour mark when Mühlner’s front-right wheel detached dramatically at Stavelot. Leveau safely made it back to the pits, but a second visit was required for further checks.
As Mühlner’s bid hit the skids with a loss of three laps, Breukers sliced through after his penalty and retook the lead ahead of Meurrens, Ali Juffali, Martins and Fontana. Following the first mandatory stops at around the 75-minute mark, Danz led for Red Camel from Meurrens and Reema Juffali.
After the first few hours a Full Course Yellow period was required when the Speed Lover Porsche became stranded in the gravel. The subsequent Safety Car closed the pack up with Red Camel, MM Racing and Theeba Motorsport on the lead lap. Meijer made light work of Mick Meurrens to take second shortly after the re-start, as Pereira gained a lap back on Ivo Breukers for AF.
Early in hour five Meijer passed Breukers on the road for the overall lead at Blanchimont, although the move occurred through the run-off area and a drive-through was soon announced. The No.22 car pitted soon after and slipped to third as a result, but super-fast Meijer quickly moved by Meurrens for second and within a few laps was back into the lead.
Following more mandatory pit-stops the lead did fluctuate and at half-distance Ali Juffali was on top for Theeba Motorsport, just over 20 seconds clear of Rik Breukers. The Red Camel driver reeled in the No.22 quickly and pulled clear at a rate, and within another half hour Breukers was close to two minutes ahead of Steve Meurrens. Juffali had handed his car over to sister Reema, who sat third.
As sunset arrived at Spa things looked to be in control for Red Camel with an advantage of two laps over the Theeba Motorsport and MM Racing Porsches, although Meijer in second place did manage to get the gap down to a single lap ahead of the final hour under night skies.
Mick Meurrens had to pit for fuel inside the last eight minutes and so the MM Porsche frustratingly missed out on the overall podium – a great performance nonetheless. Their loss was AF’s gain, but the Portuguese squad’s race hadn’t been free of drama and Dylan Pereira had to nurse the No.17 in order to save enough fuel to get to the chequered flag.
Outside the top four, next was second in class AM-S team Chazel Technologie Course with its quartet of Leandri, Gilles Colombani, Paul Trojani and Marc Guillot. Mühlner fought back valiantly from their travails to take sixth place overall with Leveau, Joshua Bednarski and Rolando Saca. Speed Lover had a challenging race to third in AM-B with Kurt Hensen, Gary Terclavers and Nick Hunter.
